Serves 4
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups kale, coarsely chopped
3 tbsp. butter, melted
½ cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups Fondue cheese, crumbled
METHOD:
Steam kale for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix flour into melted butter until a thick paste is formed. Slowly add milk, forming a thick and then thin paste. Finally mix in rest of milk until a smooth runny sauce is formed.
Add salt and black pepper. Heat on medium, stirring constantly for 5 minutes until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and stir in Fondue cheese until melted.
Arrange kale on a serving dish and pour over the cheese sauce. Serve hot as a great accompaniment to a barbecued meal or steak dinner.
